About this Presentation
Robert Lee examines how artificial intelligence can support Theory of Constraints applications without becoming the objective itself. He begins with a TOC principle drawn from technology adoption: removing a physical limitation is not enough if the rules and behaviors created around the old limitation remain in place. From that starting point, Lee offers four rules for using AI well: keep humans at the center, put purpose ahead of platform, treat relevant data and experience as more important than prompt cleverness, and view profitability as a system issue rather than a local optimization.
The practical injection is what Lee calls an ""AI Employee"" - a repeatable, consistent, predictable process that an AI platform can execute. He defines three components for building one. The persona functions like a job description and gives the AI a decision-making orientation. The instructions encode the experiences of the market and the process to follow. Aptitude and context provide the knowledge base, including how TOC Thinking Processes have evolved and how they are used. The goal is not a generic chatbot, but a deliberately designed execution resource attached to a specific purpose.
Lee then demonstrates how this design can be applied to TOC Thinking Processes. His Thinking Process AIE structures a change conversation from experiences to causes, assumptions, actions, and outcomes, with the stated aim of working through the full change sequence and levels of legitimate reservation in about an hour. The final case study describes rebuilding The Lesix Agency around a stated core problem in real estate: profitability is not treated as a professional standard. The proposed solution is a profit-first real estate brokerage and recruitment model. The deck reports that clients pay $20,000 for a total of 15 hours of Lesix work, fully guaranteed. The closing lesson is that AI is not inherently valuable to a business; the rules governing how it is used determine whether it creates value.
What Will You Learn
To help you get the most value from this session, we’ve highlighted a few key points. These takeaways capture the main ideas and practical insights from the presentation, making it easier for you to review, reflect, and apply what you’ve learned.
Why removing a technology limitation is not enough: old rules and behaviors can keep the original constraint alive even after AI makes a task easier or faster.
Four rules for good AI in a TOC environment: humans stay at the center, purpose matters more than platform, relevant data and experience matter more than prompt cleverness, and profitability must be treated systemically.
How to build an "AI Employee" as a repeatable process using three components - persona, instructions, and aptitude/context - rather than relying on a generic chatbot.
How AI can support TOC Thinking Processes and legitimate reservations, illustrated by the Lesix case that reframed a real-estate business around a profit-first brokerage and recruitment model.
