About this Presentation
This TOCICO webinar introduces Goldratt UK’s Rules of Flow for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) — a recent advancement in Goldratt UK’s implementation approach. Inspired by Efrat Goldratt-Ashlag’s book Goldratt’s Rules of Flow, the Goldratt UK team has developed a straightforward 10-step framework specifically designed for the MRO environment. After extensive field testing and refinement, this practical method has proven to streamline operations, improve reliability, and strengthen flow in complex maintenance and repair systems. Join Andy Watt, Managing Director of Goldratt UK, and Ian Gillott, COO of Goldratt UK, as they share the framework, demonstrate its application through real-world client examples, and discuss its measurable impact across diverse MRO settings. Whether you’re in manufacturing, aerospace, or service operations, this session offers actionable insights into applying TOC principles to one of the most challenging operational environments — MRO.
What Will You Learn
To help you get the most value from this session, we’ve highlighted a few key points. These takeaways capture the main ideas and practical insights from the presentation, making it easier for you to review, reflect, and apply what you’ve learned.
Learn why MRO environments require different management rules due to uncertainty, emergent work, and complex dependencies that make traditional planning ineffective.
Understand how the 10 Rules of Flow provide simple, practical guidance for protecting flow, managing uncertainty, and reducing turnaround time in MRO.
See how aggregating protective capacity and controlling work-in-progress stabilizes execution without increasing budget or resources.
Gain insight into how consistent application of Rules of Flow changes daily behaviors and improves delivery reliability and throughput.
