About this Presentation
Enterprise Architecture (EA) focuses on how business processes are standardized and integrated based on how the company operates. By applying TOC thinking, Enterprise Architecture can begin to put a process of proactive change in place to move a customer-focused organization toward a higher throughput state. Traditional EA often focuses on an internal view of the organization’s systems and processes; which may also create a small, positive improvement to customers. TOC thinking expands the “system” to include customers, their views, and their constraints. With this perspective, we can focus our internal system and process improvements on the changes that most significantly remove limitations for our customers. Once internal processes are identified, a Target Architecture is created or updated and a plan for migration toward a future state architecture is put in place. The Future State Architecture illustrates customer-centered constraints, aligns all areas of the organization, and enables proper focus. Video length: . PDF: slides.
