About this Presentation
This presentation reviews the understanding of the Theory of Constraints/Critical Chain Project Management (ToC/CCPM) by discovering its alignment to the conventional project controls method of Earned Value Management (EVM) through studying the prospects of its application on a world-class megaproject case study.
What Will You Learn
To help you get the most value from this session, we’ve highlighted a few key points. These takeaways capture the main ideas and practical insights from the presentation, making it easier for you to review, reflect, and apply what you’ve learned.
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) can be applied to project management to improve efficiency and outcomes. It involves identifying the most critical constraint in a project and then exploiting, subordinating, and elevating it to improve project outcomes.
Critical Path and Critical Chain are two different project management methodologies that can work in harmony. Critical Chain is an upgraded version of Critical Path that takes into account resource availability.
Resource leveling and smoothing are key concepts in transforming a Critical Path schedule into a Critical Chain schedule. These concepts involve optimizing the use of resources to improve project outcomes.
