About this Presentation
Traditionally, manufacturers focus the majority of their business improvement efforts on their production facilities and supply chain management. Many of them, however, can benefit from improving their product launch and development processes. Utilizing the CCPM approach to enable visibility and synchronization of their technical resources not only significantly improves the product launch and development process but also increases revenue and business profitability. This presentation will describe how the application of CCPM to New Product Development and Product Launch processes fits into the overall improvement strategy, called Flow Management System, of a manufacturing business. It will also explain how some manufacturers successfully leverage the CCPM process and the supporting CCPM software to manage their APQP and other development processes, maximizing the profitability of the entire operation. Actual case studies from the automotive, aerospace, defense, and food industries will be used to provide application examples.
What Will You Learn
To help you get the most value from this session, we’ve highlighted a few key points. These takeaways capture the main ideas and practical insights from the presentation, making it easier for you to review, reflect, and apply what you’ve learned.
Learn how Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) helps manufacturers shorten new product launch cycles by focusing teams on true constraints instead of local optimization.
Understand why traditional product development planning can lead to delays, rework, and cost overruns and how CCPM’s buffer management and priority rules reduce variability and cycle time.
See how aligning cross-functional teams around a shared constraint and prioritization mechanism improves coordination between engineering, supply chain, and production. 4.Gain insight into practical lessons on sustaining launch performance improvements and linking CCPM practices to business profitability through better predictability and throughput.
