About this Presentation

Whilst Critical Chain has an intuitive feel, few are willing to change their whole project portfolio management methods based on a feeling. In this keynote presentation, Alan Barnard will share examples where large organizations used simulation models - a digital twin of their project operations - to help them to test their different operating methods.

What Will You Learn

To help you get the most value from this session, we’ve highlighted a few key points. These takeaways capture the main ideas and practical insights from the presentation, making it easier for you to review, reflect, and apply what you’ve learned.

Plane
Decision making in complex systems is challenging due to the many ways to fail, counterintuitive rules for planning and execution, and the large time gaps between causes and effects.
Building digital twins or dynamic simulation models of real-life systems can help predict the impact of decisions and make it easier to learn from mistakes.
Applying a work in progress (WIP) cap, prioritizing tasks based on their status, and using a dynamic WIP control can significantly improve project performance.
