About this Presentation

Vivo (Telefonica Brazil), is Brazil's largest telecommunications company. Its IT team has over 6,000 members. In 2018 Vivo set the goal of doubling the rate at which IT projects were completed - the IT2X Program - without employing more staff. In this presentation, CIO Andre Kriger will share the story of how VIVO achieved this objective, highlighting key challenges & obstacles they faced along the way, and how they overcame them. Last, Andre will discuss where he plans to go from here as they pursue ever-higher levels of value delivery.

Plane
This session shows that doubling project delivery does not start with working faster on everything. It starts with confronting the real causes of delay: too many parallel projects, weak resource management, poor visibility, and overloaded shared resources.
A central shift is cultural as much as operational: value priorities over responsiveness, finishing over starting, reliable planning over optimistic commitments, and shared goals over individual goals.
The presentation highlights a practical Critical Chain-style playbook, including staggered release, unified prioritization, single-tasking, management by indicators, and optimization of the project chain rather than isolated tasks.
The results are compelling: the organization increased monthly project throughput from about 10 to 31 projects, improved on-time delivery from 27% to 91%, reduced lead time from 199 to 185 days, cut time to market from 416 to 320 days, and reduced WIP by 33%.
